Hello duckies! I'm up at my Aunt Joy's again! Have been for a couple of days actually. I've been so busy, in between daycare and trying to find time to hang out with my cousins. Blake and I saw the new James Bond movie this weekend with a bunch of his friends, then we went to James' house and watched Warriors. Considering I was the only girl out of seven boys it was a lot of fun.

Daycare has been running me ragged though. My aunt has been really sick and I'm not used to five kids at once. I think it's the baby that makes me the most nervous. At least the two one year old's know how to make meaningful gestures and bits of words that are technically English.

I'll be heading back to Iowa for Thanksgiving, but it feels both too soon an forever away.

I'm going to do my COMPASS test in a bit for Kirkwood. Then I'm going up to my Aunt Joy's to help out, due to her having some kidney problems. Ouch. I'm miss having insurance. :C

Some fun links for you
Infernal Device One of the best reference sites I've ever seen.
Evil Shakespeare Overlord List Most of these are hilariously WTF
Squishables.com Oh god, I want.
Bear Nuts I saw the concept for this a while back on dA and I'm thrilled to see it being used here. Super zany and expressive art and plot.
DAR I just found this a few hours ago on Devil's Panties, another awesome comic. It's pretty.

Also, I love my Sherlock icon. *squeezes*

I "rocked the vote" right after it opened this morning. My first election, yay for youth vote!

It was paper and pen only here, with flimsy cardboard "booths" but it was quick gosh darn it. About 15 minutes in total I think, so that was nice. I'm sure I'll become much more cynical as time goes, but right now I feel super excited.

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...

The Explorer

11% Elegant, 45% Technological, 17% Historical, 60% Adventurous and 51% Playful!

You are the Explorer, the embodiment of steampunk’s adventuring spirit. For you, clothing should be rugged and reliable, and just as functional as it is attractive. You probably prefer khaki or leather, and your accessories are as likely to include weapons as technological gizmos. You probably wear boots and gloves, and maybe a pith helmet. Most of what you wear is functional, and if you happen to wear goggles people had better believe that you use them. In addition to Victorian exploration gear, your outfit probably includes little knickknacks from your various travels. Above all, you are a charming blend of rugged Victorian daring and exotic curiosity.

I no longer have lice. Rawk. I actually got it taken care of a while ago, but forgot to mention. Eh.

I got to see family this weekend. There was much awesome and very tasty cake. Those potatoes were pretty darn yummy too.

I have pink milk, cheap ramen, and silly fanfic. All is right in the world.

I have head lice! *weeps* Where in the hell did I get head lice?! I haven't been near kids since early August. Aren't adults not suppose to get head lice? Whyyy! ;_;

A little bit of history about me, when I was a kid I had head lice for several years. Every time we got rid of them I would catch them again. It was never ending, we tried everything to get rid of them. (Eventually we tracked it down to one family who for some reason refused to de-louse their kids and we shunned them and any kids who played with them.)

I'm thinking of shaving my head, I really am. I've done this crap way to many times before, my long hair is going to be a bitch. Gods, I do NOT want to deal with this again.

*goes off to sulk a great deal*

Title: Collide
Author: BurntFeathers/leo_snake89
Rating: G
Pairing: Bart Allen/Maxine Hunkel aka Cyclone
Author's Notes: Some of these characters might be really, really OOC since I haven't *actually* read any issues of JSA outside of a few scans on Maxine from scans_daily. But I looked up
Maxine's profile and I immediately thought that this pairing would be one of the most adorable things in all of fandom. I don't think I was wrong. XD
Summery: It makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

School Stuff

I had my visit to Kirkwood Community College today. Lots and lots to think about. I pretty much sat down with the entire list of classes and circled the ones I was interested is spending money to learn about. It's very telling, much more so than all those assessment tests I took.

Psychology, Philosophy, Anatomy, Play Analysis, Creative Writing (natch), Graphic Communications, Literature, Interior Design, Sociology, Political Sciences, Human Services and so on.

See a pattern here? A little bit a of people thing going on here, along with some creative outlets. I'm starting to narrow it down, and by no means do I need to pick anything resembling a major anytime soon. No matter which one I choose to continue on with, I'm most certainly interested in learning about these subject, and many relate to the other in some form or another. I have an appointment coming up with my Vocational Rehabilitation counselor, Bruce, and I think we'll actually have something to discuss this time. :D I also want to call my cousin Blake, as I don't think I've properly bounced I ideas of of him yet and I'm almost certain he'll have some kind of incite that would be helpful.

Family Stuff

In other news, my cousin Joe is going to be a daddy. He's the oldest of the grandchildren on my mom's side so I'm rather relived it's not me (or my sister *shudder*) who has to to have the first great grand kid. His brother John, (the cousin who was hit by the flood) is engaged to the rather competent Rose, so there's another first that I don't have to do. However, I may very well be the first to go to college (unless I screw up royally *knocks on wood*). John was going to be a nurse, but he had to drop out due to past football injures that wouldn't let him play. My beloved cousin Blake will be going to college for Nuclear Propulsion due to his joining the Navy. Hey, he's getting paid to go to school, and will only have to serve for a few years. He's also a summer baby, but he was held back instead of pushed along anyway like I was, so he has a bit of school still left to go.

Hmm, it seems that one of these days I'm going to have to do a big long post on my family. Or probably a series of them, by aunt/uncle/grandparent. My grandma has 5 kids and 13 grand kids so there's a lot of stories to tell. I'm afraid I don't know much about my dad's side, due to them living on the other side of the country in California and Connecticut. But I guess that's a story for later. ;)

Good news: My adenoids and my tonsils are in fan-freaking-tastic shape.

Bad news:The back of my tongue is too thick. I think the doctor said there was a 2mm gap between the back of my throat and my tongue. Nothing but MAJOR reconstructive surgery to MOVE MY ENTIRE LOWER JAW FORWARD will permanently fix it. I'm going to a orthodontist  to try and get some kind of spacer thing that will keep my jaw forward when I sleep.

This sux0rs.

OhGodohgodohgod. I really want to write Bart Allen/Maxine Hunkel. I barely even know who she *is* but I know enough to know that pairing would be cute as all hell. JSA sound like an excellent read anyway. *plots and pines*

I was in B&N the other day, and I realized; DC COMICS IS A VOID OF DEATH AND DESPAIR.
I couldn't find a damn thing in stock that wasn't horribly depressing. It's not edgy, it's a downer and it makes me not want to read comics, no matter how much I love the characters. The only thing that didn't involve anguish on high was the Green Arrow/Black Canary wedding, which is a totally different kind of depressing in that Dinah could do *waaay* better. Flipping through did make me chuckle, however.

In other news, Tiny Titans remains to be awesome. For now.

I've been getting up early recently. Usually around 6:00 I do dishes and start breakfast. We need more pancake mix, hmm. Hopefully heading out to spend time with mom, sister, and sister's boyfriend later on. Chinese food was promised. Awesome.

I have no idea what I'm going to choose for my major. I've been talking with Vocational Rehabilitation (who will pay 50% for collage. Um, YAY.) but before they can help me, I need to you know, have some vague idea of what I want to go to school for. I'm narrowing it down, but yeah, lots of things to think about.

Sleep schedule is off like whoa. Doctors appointment for that is in early September. I may or may not need surgery to remove my adenoids for my sleep apnea. Ho hum.

I wish I could draw or write something, but my heart just isn't into it.

Ah Gawd

I've been rather stressed out ever since I got home. Yes, including my birthday. And I thought that the daycare was bad. Ha! Honestly not, oh, three minutes after walking in the door I wanted to get right back in the car. There is currently about nine people living in this house, eating food, and generally making use of the facilities. It hard to properly function in the storm of it all. I'll get use to it sooner or later I guess.

But it's not all bad. Aunt Joy got me some nice clothes while we were at Mall of America. Daycare was totally worth it, in hindsight. For my birthday I finally got some art portfolios to put all my stuff in, and a Batman cake. Otherwise it was rather uneventful, but in a good way.

I'm sorry I didn't get the birthday  fic posted in time Chien, I was hoping to be back from Wisconsin sooner than I did. I'll work on it later after I've gotten some sleep.

I'm five seconds from bitch-slapping a bossy 12 year old girl. And the six year old is getting duct tape and Ritalin, I swear to God! Grandma and Blake have a child each that they watch and I'm watching five others. The three toddlers have to be separated from the other two as well, otherwise the six year gets them wound up and the 12 year old tries to do my job. Poorly.

If I last the week without having a violent breakdown, I will be stunned. STUNNED!

Around 1:00 Monday our internet and tv cable when out. This was becoming a common occurrence in our house and we thought nothing of it. We just now got it back. From what we can gather, our neighbor, who works as a professional landscaper, used his heavy duty weed whacker and cut the cable to, well, our cable.

I cannot express the level of board I've been. It's one thing to lose the internet. It's one thing to lose the television. But when it's both? It too hot and humid to dare go outside for any amount of time longer than strictly necessary, the radio don't broadcast shows anymore, and I don't have any friends who can readily save me. Seriously, it sucked.

On the other hand, everyone got an insane amount of cleaning done and I got to read The Bone-setters Daughter. Fantastic read, but I still haven't gone to bed yet. Whee.

OMG BATMAN. I know it can't really be THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN, but I can't think of any that are, in fact, that awesome. I can't talk about it without giving to much away. You know how everyone knew it would be a really super awesome movie? It was five times more awesome than that. Seriously. BATMAN!

Also, Watchmen preview= *FLAIL* Ohpleasedon'tsuckohpleasedon'tsuck.

I saw the movie yesterday but MEDIACOM SUCKS and they've been having "Technical Difficulties". Yeah, for the past three weeks. I hates them. *shakes fist*

Sherlock Holmes slash is of the win. I think it's all the big words, because even if it's out of character, it's still pretty good.

Yesterday was my sister Rachelle's 17th birthday. We (her, Mom, and I) went to Gordman's and she bought a bunch of summer clothes. Mom and her had the typical mother-daughter argument about her shorts being to tiny, Rachelle won. I got a bag with an owl on it, some wicked awesome sock and some sweet glasses. There was a perfume there that I really liked, but it was $35 and I only had $20 on me. My birthday is soon, I might get it them, it did smell really awesome. After that we went to Red Robin, I love that place, so freaking delicious. We stopped by Hy-Vee to get ice cream and I grabbed a Two-Face Pez dispenser, he's so cool looking. Then we came home an had an German chocolate Alf cake. It was ugly, but pretty tasty. All in all a good day.

The 17th I have a doctor appointment for my last Gardasil shot and to talk about the results of my sleep apnea test. 18th is BATMAN MOVIE OMG YAY. Then the weekend I'm dog sitting for my "Uncle" Dennis. Yay for thinks to do/look forward to!

Hannah Scott stopped by today, I missed her so much.

I FINALLY finished my kid themed mood set! It looks so cool, only 2 repeated images, thoughtful and morose. I'll probably add those later though. Go to My Picture on my profile to check it out! They're a bit big for mood icons, but any smaller would have ruined a lot of them.

Also I have a new icon. Mmm boy hips.

I've been reading a great deal of X-Men slash lately. I love rare pairings, but that's just the problem, they're rare. I want more Jono/Angelo, Jean-Paul/Pietro, St. John/Dominic damnit. And sweet Jesus but Remy is a whore, non? But yeah, if you know any fics of these pairing, decent or not, rec me some okay? Please and thank you.

Oh god I'm so bored.

I've been super sick recently, so while my parents and my sister when camping for the Fourth, I got to stay home and throw up. I'm pretty sure it was food poisoning, but I have no idea what from. Good news is that I'm feeling better and I lost 5 pounds. Yay? I saw Wanted a few days ago, it was freaking hilariously kick-ass. Still haven't seen Hulk, don't not know if I care to.

I don't use tags very often. :/
